It’s time To stop letting other people

decide your identity

No one gets to tell you who (or what) you are.

Identity and empowerment are themes that run through most of my work as a lawyer, licensed trauma clinician and AuDHD relationship strategist.   In my personal and professional life my natural tendency is to be drawn to those who live in the margins and haven’t had the space to really develop their own sense of identity because there has been so much noise telling them who they are and who they are allowed to be.  I find tremendous joy and purpose in helping them identify and understand what shapes their identity and navigate their relationship with themselves and others.

Instead of being drained by the idea of difference, I celebrate its strengths.

I believe the closer we can get to affecting change at the root of things, the more effective and sustainable our actions.

Hey, I'm Meira

Your ADHD Relationship Strategist Who is Here for You!

I’m Meira Greenfeld, and I help AuDHDers (Autism+ADHD), Autistics, and ADHDers build meaningful connections. My experience as a lawyer and trauma professional has shown me that we need social interaction to truly thrive, but not at the expense of our autonomy, values and purpose. When you work with me, I will help you embrace possibilities beyond “managing symptoms” or racking up coping skills.  This seems grey and dreary to me.  Why settle for just getting by?  It really is ok to experience joy.  It’s always on the table.

My Vision
Isolation is a common challenge for AuDHDers, often leading to feelings of misunderstanding or lack of close relationships. My goal is to help you move beyond individual growth to be a part of supportive communities that sustain your personal growth while allowing you to engage on a level that honors your unique needs.

Creating Supportive Spaces
Our communal spheres can include relationships, family, creative hubs, workplaces, or traditional communities. By connecting with those who understand and support us, we can sustain personal growth and advocate collectively without sacrificing our dreams or needs.

Self-Advocacy
We want to play to our strengths while addressing our unique challenges. My approach emphasizes self-awareness, self-advocacy, and resilience, enabling AuDHDers to make meaningful impacts in their personal, social and professional lives.

Let’s redefine what it means to be autistic, an ADHDer, or an AuDHDer on our own terms, moving beyond clinical labels and embracing our true potential.

How I Got Here

Somatic-Based/Attachment Focused Coaching

Before I started coaching I became a trauma therapist and I kept noticing how people would come to me for therapy because of stress and anxiety even though they weren’t mentally or clinically ill. It didn’t sit well with me that they were being made to believe they fit into a mold of ‘there is something wrong with me’ just to receive the support they actually needed. You can learn more about my therapy practice here.

I was drawn to coaching because after practicing psychotherapy for several years, I wanted to normalize normal.  It was difficult to operate in a world obsessed with medical labels and deficit-based thinking.  Even the questions we are trained to ask on endless intakes seem to teach those seeking solace how to notice everything that’s wrong: ‘Do you find yourself thinking negative thoughts?’ Who doesn’t?  We need to explore our innate healing abilities and strengths.  They’re in there!  When you seek therapy, it’s difficult to escape the medicalizing of everything.   This is sadly true for many autistic/ADHD/AuDHD children and their parents trying to navigate networks of providers who offer “treatment” that often negates neurodivergent experience and facilitates placements in noisy and intrusive “therapeutic” settings.  Somehow, we can make even coping sound like a disease.  It’s often an organic and natural response to a world gone mad.

I want to guide you through what works well and teach you how to exist in your body the way it was made for you.  For you!  The AuDHDers, Austics, ADHDers.  All of you. I see you. Your body is designed to heal.  Sometimes, it just needs a nudge.  In nurturing and supportive environments, it thrives!!  And oftentimes, when we get to the root of a thing, it doesn’t take years of guesswork to let that organic healing do its thing.  Sometimes, all it takes is a well-timed Power Hour.

Empowerment

Before therapy and coaching I worked as a lawyer in social justice  (and corporate) settings where I focused on bringing equality to those living on the other side of racism and gay rights. It was at Harvard (where I studied for my law degree) that I received hands-on education from civil rights activist Derrick Bell from whom I learned constitutional law and in whose office I spent hours learning about social justice on a deeper level with all its complexity.  He was gracious to me, even then, when I went against the grain.

All these facets run through my services as empowerment.  You can do this.  I will show you how.
